Placement: From Tübingen to the London School of Economics
After his postdoctoral research in Tübingen, Louis Henderson is moving to the London School of Economics. Dr. Louis Henderson, who worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the field of economics at the University of Tübingen (through the Teach at Tübingen program), will now continue his career at the London School of Economics. The "placement" of young scholars is an important indicator of the recognition that Tübingen economics receives worldwide.
Henderson’s research examines, among other things, the numerical components of human capital during the Industrial Revolution in Britain, which led Europe and the world into a new era. As a postdoc, he was an important part of Tübingen's research group on economic history, which also focuses on education, human capital, and long-term growth. Henderson used methods based on the so-called "age-heaping-based numeracy" indicator, which was developed jointly at Oxford and Tübingen. Henderson completed his PhD at the University of Oxford and initially continued his career in Tübingen before now moving on to work at the London School of Economics.
