Keynote lecture
This year's speaker in the Hilgendorf Lecture will be Ass. Prof. Antonio Profico, palaeoanthropologist and morphometrician interested in Human Evolution and Virtual Anthropology. His research focuses on the links among skeletal morphology, function, and evolution. After receiving a PhD from Sapienza University of Rome (Italy) (2016), he worked for three years at the same University as a postdoctoral fellow studying the Neanderthal skeleton of Altamura (2016-19). His research projects have received funding from the European Union and national programs, and he has been a research fellow at the University of York (UK) (2019-21), University of Tübingen (Germany) (2021-22), and Catalan Institute of Human Paleoecology and Social Evolution (Tarragona, Spain) (2022).
Registration and Abstract submission
Attendance of the meeting is free of charge and open to all interested students (any level) and faculty, including those not directly affiliated with the EVEREST grad school. All participants (contributors and attendees) need to register no later than 10 October 2026 through the Meeting registration form (t.b.a.). Here, contributors of poster and oral presentations also submit their Abstract, including contribution Title, Author(s), Affiliation(s), and Abstract (150 words maximum).
Oral and poster presentation formats
Oral contributions are 15 minutes, followed by a 5 min discussion. Projections will be from a Windows PC. The presentation should be provided before the meeting as PowerPoint (.pptx) or PDF files — we prefer the latter to avoid compatibility problems. Posters are vertical with A0 dimensions (1189 mm x 841 mm). There will be a dedicated poster session with snacks and drinks.
Meeting announcement poster
Promote the event by sharing the meeting announcement poster through digital and analogue channels.
Meeting Dinner
Attendants are invited to join for our informal meeting dinner in [place t.b.a.] (one drink and food included), starting after the Hilgendorf lecture.
