Program Outline for the Double Degree with the University of Nottingham
Program Outline
Students of the M.Sc. in Economics or International Economics from the University of Tübingen taking part in the double degree program with the University of Nottingham will spend one year at the University of Nottingham and one year at the University of Tübingen.
During their first semester, students will attend the courses Microeconomic Theory, Macroeconomic Theory, Econometric Theory and Economic Data Analysis.
During their second semester at the University of Nottingham, students choose
- two required modules depending on the specialization of the MSc. in Nottingham and
- two elective modules from a wide range of modules offered (see selection here: www.nottingham.ac.uk/pgstudy/courses/economics/economics-msc.aspx)
The ECTS-Credits (30 ECTS-Credits) achieved by TU students will be credited towards the requirements of the relevant TU regulations (Prüfungsordnung) within their Compulsary, Specialization and Elective Studies.
Students will also study the ERM Methodology module (15 credits) – this is a mandatory Nottingham component. The credits earned here will not transfer to TU as it exceeds the number of ECTS allowed for an M.Sc. award.
In their third semester, students will earn 30 ECTS-Credits choosing courses within the Specialization and Elective Studies. One of these courses has to be the obligatory Master seminar.
Finally, students have to write a jointly supervised Master thesis which is worth 30 ECTS-Credits in the fourth semester.
Please note! All information in this program is preliminary and changes are possible.
