After studying political science and economics, biology and educational science at the University of Tübingen, Malte Ring completed his PhD at the Chair of Economic Education of Taiga Brahm. In his dissertation (2017-2020) he analyzed visual representations such as graphs and diagrams in economic education from an interdisciplinary perspective (http://dx.doi.org/10.15496/publikation-51233). Since September 2024, he has been Acting Chair for the term of office of Prof. Dr. Taiga Brahm as Dean.

The assessment, analysis, and development of economic competencies, particularly in relation to the interpretation and use of economic graphs
Digital media in economics education, with a focus on supporting (pre-service and in-service) teachers in the design and implementation of instructional videos
