Methodological approach
A wide range of scientific methods are used in research in the field of digital education. These range, for example, from individual interviews with pupils to extensive field studies that include questionnaires and complex computer-aided models for analysing learning process data.
In Tübingen, most researchers work with quantitative methods, i.e. collecting and analysing data in numerical form. With the help of the mixed-method approach, these measurements, for example of learning processes, and their statistical analyses can be combined with qualitative data, such as interview data, in order to gain scientific knowledge in various research areas.
