Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sergii Galetskyi

I'm a Ukrainian scholar whose work centers on modern pedagogical innovations, digital education, and international collaboration in higher education. With more than fifteen years of experience across European and North American universities, my academic career combines teaching, curriculum development, and research at the intersection of educational technology, intercultural communication, and innovative instructional design.

My current research project explores how online education can enhance the accessibility, inclusiveness, and resilience of higher education systems. Focusing on comparative studies between Germany and Ukraine, I investigate how students’ digital competencies, socio-demographic factors, and engagement levels influence learning outcomes and how universities can adapt teaching strategies to better support diverse learners. My work contributes to building a strong evidence base for the effective integration of digital tools and teaching practices into university curricula, ensuring that innovation in education is both equitable and sustainable.

The project also aims to transfer research findings into practice by developing policy recommendations for educational authorities, creating methodological guidelines for instructors, and proposing models of cooperation between universities across Europe and Ukraine. In this way, I bridge theory and real-world application, supporting the development of more flexible and future-oriented learning environments.

Holding a PhD in Pedagogy and dual Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in both Philology and Law, I approache education through a multidisciplinary lens that connects linguistic, cultural, and technological perspectives. My teaching philosophy emphasizes active learning, learner autonomy, and the meaningful use of ICT to enhance student engagement and accessibility. Beyond academia, I have been actively involved in international youth exchange and intercultural initiatives, including leadership roles in the Canada World Youth exchange programThrough my academic and professional work, I contribute to the advancement of digital and inclusive education, aligning with the broader goals of fostering evidence-based, innovative, and globally connected approaches to teaching and learning in higher education.
