Open Submission Anytime and Eligibility Requirements for Researchers from Germany and PUJ
The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (PUJ) offer a joint funding opportunity for bilateral research projects in all fields of research under a Standing Open Procedure (SOP).
Based on a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions, researchers in Germany and at PUJ may apply for jointly organized bilateral projects of outstanding scientific quality, with a funding period of up to three years.

Mandatory bilateral structure, involving research teams in Germany and at PUJ.
No dedicated additional funds: proposals compete with all other submissions within the regular DFG Research Grants Programme.
Identical scientific content and applicant teams must be submitted to both DFG and PUJ.
Submission to DFG exclusively via the elan portal, selecting “COLOMBIA PUJ 20XX – Joint Research Grants.”
Applicants from non-university research institutions in Germany must fully comply with the DFG’s cooperation requirement (Kooperationspflicht) in partnership with a German university.
PUJ applicants must follow all internal requirements and submit their proposals through the university’s designated platform.
