Researcher Participated in Joint NSO–GfÖ Conference 2026 in Denmark
Heading to Odense, Denmark, members of the Soil Science and Geomorphology, Tübingen University, gathered for the Joint NSO-GfÖ Conference 2026 from September 13 to 17. Co-hosted by the Nordic Society Oikos (NSO) and the Ecological Society of Germany, Austria and Switzerland (GfÖ), the joint meeting provided a wonderful environment for ecologists and environmental scientists from across Europe and beyond to connect, share ideas, and discuss shared research frontiers.
Three researchers contributed their latest work to the scientific programme:
Dr. Corinna Gall delivered an engaging talk on linking moss structural and functional traits to soil water fluxes and soil erosion.
Rabindra Adhikari followed, sharing a poster titled "Microclimatic heterogeneity across treeline vegetation zones in the Nepal Himalaya," while also taking on role of co-convener of the specialized thematic session of the conference on “Spatial and Temporal Variability Across Scales in Alpine Treeline Ecotones”.
Similarly, PhD researcher (Amrit Maharjan) from Hamburg University a key partner in the TREELINE-II Himalayan research project, rounded out the presentations by sharing his latest findings on microsite drivers and climate sensitivities in the Himalaya.
Overall, the gathering proved to be an invaluable trip, giving the team a fantastic opportunity to showcase their ongoing projects, engage in interdisciplinary conversations, and catch up with colleagues from the broader international research community.
