WiSe 2026/27 - Place Allocation and Late Admissions Phase 1
Place allocation for Phase 1: Advanced/Focus/Master Courses has concluded. Late admissions will be possible starting Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
The place allocation for Phase 1: Advanced/Focus/Master Courses (i.e. any non-first-semester courses) has concluded.
If you still need a place, please familiarize yourself with the process for Late Admissions outlined in our FAQ:
The following courses have ample places left. If any of them fit your needs, don't hesitate to ask for a late admission.
- AcEng S: Oral Communication I - PG 3 (McColl), Thu 8:00 - 10:00
- S: Ästhetik der Co-Kreativität in der Vor- und Postmoderne / Pre- and Postmodern Aesthetics of Co-Creativity (Bauer/Führer), Wed 16:00 - 18:00
- S: Songwriting (Gijswijt), Oct 5 - Oct 9, 10:15 - 16:00
- S: "The Haunt of Birds": Birds in Romantic Poetry (Shaw), Mon 14:00 - 16:00
- HS: Word order variations (Kehl), Tue 16:00 - 18:00
If you are interested in any of the courses above (or any other offered by the English Department) please make sure the conditions outlined in our FAQ are met. Most importantly: the course has places left, you know who to contact (Main Office or lecturer) and the course is valid for your study program/the module you want to use it for.
Conversely, if you have received a place you do not need, please make sure to de-register. ALMA will allow you to do so until October 18, 2026. Otherwise just contact the lecturer or Main Office.
A note on lectures:
For our bigger lectures (>= 100 participants) an admission is not strictly necessary. As long as the lecture hall can fit you, you can attend. You will still have to make sure the lecture is valid for your program/module and register for the exam to receive credits. If you prefer a formal admission on ALMA please proceed as outlined in the FAQ article on late admissions.
A note on linguistics workgroups:
Admission to a workgroup requires you to have a place in the seminar of the same name. Workgroups are not stand-alone courses.
A note on Academic English Courses:
Participant numbers for most Acdemic English courses can be increased by a small margin if all courses of the same type have reached capacity. For example, if all OC I classes are full, we are allowed to admit a few more students per class.
