Prof. Dr. Christian Zwiener

Dr. Markus Schmitt

is postdoctoral researcher. His research topics include aquatic and soil photochemistry and environmental analytical chemistry of pesticides, pharmaceuticals and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances.

Boris Bugsel

is a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Christian Zwiener. His research focuses on the analytics and environmental behavior of precursors and transformation products of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs). In lab experiments, both photochemical and electrochemical experiments are performed and screened for transformation products with liquid chromatography coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry (HPLC-QTOF-MS).

Rebecca Bauer

is a doctoral candidate investigating environmentally relevant transformation processes of the anti-depressants citalopram and venlafaxine as a part of the project 'Effekt-Net'.

Jonathan Zweigle

is a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Christian Zwiener. He works on the occurrence and transformation of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) in consumer products. Methods such as electrochemical- and photocatalytic oxidation are combined with high-resolution mass spectrometry to identify precursors which can degrade to persistent perfluoroalkyl acids.

Zi Wang

is a PhD student. Her research focuses on the production, optimization and application of the reactive membranes based on carbon and metal nanoparticles. Specially she is interested in the applicability of these generated materials in water treatment processes (e.g. adsorption, filtration, advanced oxidation processes).

Stephanie Nowak

is the technical assistant. She works in processing of water samples for analytical measurements using solid phase extraction, application of analytical methods for trace elements in the water cycle such as pharmaceuticals, pesticides, perfluorinated substances as well as their transformation products and metabolites.

Melanie Schüssler

is a AEG Master Student under the supervision of Boris Bugsel. She is working on her Master Thesis and investigates photolysation of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs).
