ERASMUS-Program for the academic year 2025/26

The School of Business and Economics offers ideal conditions for studying abroad in Europe: in addition to the School's numerous ERASMUS and CIVIS partnerships, exchange students benefit from the financial support provided by the ERASMUS mobility grant, the comparatively simple organisation, tuition fee exemption at the partner university and recognition of academic achievements from abroad.

Ideally, a stay abroad should take place in the 5th semester of Bachelor programmes or in the 3rd semester of Master programmes.

Application for a Study Place

The application phase for Erasmus study places for the academic year 2025/26 begins on 1 December 2024. The application deadline is 31 January 2025. Applications can be submitted via the Application and Information Portal for Erasmus 2025/26 in ILIAS.

The application consists of two steps:

  1. Complete the application form with your details and (five) preferences for partner universities.
  2. Upload your attachments via ILIAS.

The following attachments are required for a complete application:

  • Transcript of records (current statement of your credit points account)
  • Certificate of higher education entrance qualification (Abiturzeugnis)
  • Certificates of previous degrees, if applicable (incl. grade transcripts; mandatory for Master's students)
  • Letter of motivation of approx. 1 page including a description of your study plans at the host university
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Language certificates (further information available in the Erasmus-FAQs, please take care of the necessary language certificates as early as possible)

Only applications received on time and in full (application form + attachments) can be considered.

Selection criteria for the allocation of places:

  • Professional qualifications (based on previous academic achievements and A-level results)
  • Relevance and fit of the proposed programme of study (based on the letter of motivation)
  • Language skills
  • Formal requirements (Bachelor's / Master's, etc.)

The selection is made by the Erasmus commission of the School of Business & Economics chaired by the Departmental Erasmus Coordinator of the School.

Application for the Erasmus Grant

If your application was successful and we were able to offer you a place at one of our partner universities, we will nominate you to the ERASMUS Office of the International Office. Students nominated by the School of Business & Economics can then submit their online application for the Erasmus mobility grant to the ERASMUS Office of the International Office (at the beginning of June for the winter semester and at the end of October for the summer semester). Pre-Departure Meeting 2025/26

With the Pre-Departure Meeting, the School of Business & Economics offers a mandatory information session for all students who are going on an Erasmus or CIVIS exchange in 2025/26. At the Pre-Departure Meeting you will receive information on:

  • Course selection & preparation of the Learning Agreement
  • Applying for Erasmus funding
  • Practical information on preparing for your studies abroad

The Pre-Departure Meeting will take place on 7 May 2025. All Erasmus and CIVIS students of the department will receive an invitation with further information.

Course Selection & Learning Agreement

All ERASMUS and CIVIS students must complete a Learning Agreement and get approval by the School of Business & Economics and their partner university. It contains the course programme at the partner university during the stay abroad.

Learning Agreement - Before the start of the stay abroad
The Learning Agreement before the start of the stay abroad is used to plan the study programme at the partner university. It can be created as an Online Learning Agreement (OLA) or manually in the Mobility Online Portal and is only valid if it has been signed by all parties (student, Departmental Erasmus Coordinator at the home university, Departmental Erasmus Coordinator at the partner university).

Learning Agreement Changes - During your stay abroad
If there are any changes to your study programme during your stay abroad, please get them approved by us and your partner university and then submit an updated Learning Agreement. Please use the "Changes" section in the Learning Agreement for this purpose and do not issue a new Learning Agreement. The updated Learning Agreement must be uploaded to the Mobility Online Portal no later than five weeks after arrival at your partner university.

Recognition of Academic Achievements from Abroad

Please ensure that your academic achievements from abroad are recognised in good time. In the Bachelor programmes, a total of 36 ECTS credits can be recognised for the economics & business modules and 9 ECTS credits in the language and key qualifications module. A total of 30 ECTS credits can be recognised in the Master programmes. Crediting is carried out by the respective departments. As the recognition usually has to be carried out at several departments in succession and some time is required for processing, you should allow sufficient time and start the process as early as possible.

The following steps must be observed:

  1. Yellow routing slip: The Examination Office is responsible for the final recognition and entry of courses in your transcript of records. All courses must be entered on a yellow routing slip, which you can obtain from the service office of the Examination Office.
  2. On the respective homepages of the chairs you will usually find a specific list of which documents are required for credit transfer. This may vary from chair to chair.
  3. The grade conversion table and the information sheet for the recognition of foreign academic achievements can be found on the homepage of the Examination Office.
  4. For credit transfer in the Elective Studies specialisation area or "Schlüsselqualifikationen" (for Bachelor students) or Free Elective Studies (for Master students), please send an email with transcript/proof of achievement to anerkennungspam prevention@wiwi.uni-tuebingen.de. Further information can be found on the website of the Examinations Office.

Please note that proof of recognition of your achievements from the partner university at the University of Tübingen must be uploaded to the Mobility Online portal by 31 May (for stays abroad in the winter semester) or 30 September (for stays abroad in the summer semester).
