Gender Equality Representative of the faculty

The task of the Equal Opportunities Officer is to work towards compensating for disadvantages arising from gender-related factors (LHG 2015 §4). She and the members of the Equal Opportunities Commission serve as contact persons for students, staff and lecturers of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in matters relating to gender equality. This includes problems relating to the compatibility of family and studies, confidential counselling in cases of discrimination or sexual harassment, as well as support for young female researchers and the promotion of gender-related topics in research and teaching.

Prof. Dr. Wiebke Meinhold has been the Equal Opportunities Officer for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities since summer term 2025.
Her deputy is Prof. Dr. Sam Featherston.

Her predecessors are Prof. Dr. Monika Schrimpf (2019-2024), Prof. Dr. Heike Oberlin (2014-2019), Franziska Plümmer, M.A. (2014), Prof. Dr. Esme Winter-Froemel (2013-2014) and Dr. Lily Tonger-Erk (2010-2013).
