In cooperation with the TüSE's Study and Teaching Department, the Information and Advice Center is involved in regular information events that shed light on important stages and transitions before and during teacher training. You can find an overview of these events here.

For more complex questions and concerns, we offer personal consultations. 

Possible counseling topics could be, for example

• Academic orientation: before and during teacher training, or (possibly re-orientation)
• Organizing your studies: finding your way around the university, uncertainty about changing subjects, loss of eligibility to take exams, etc. 
• Dealing with stress, pressure, etc.
• and much more.

A session lasts about 50 minutes, and follow-up sessions can be arranged if needed. Appointments can be made during our office hours or by e-mail at studienberatungspam prevention@tuese.uni-tuebingen.de.

On-site counseling sessions in our counseling office are only conducted by appointment (by telephone or e-mail).

For more complex matters that cannot be discussed over the phone or on site, we offer you a longer personal consultation (approx. 50 minutes) via Zoom. If required, follow-up appointments can also be arranged to a certain extent.

After you have taken part in the mandatory online self-assessment TüSE - Check your Choice before transferring to or enrolling in the Master of Education, we offer you the TüSE - Reflect your Choice consultation format to reflect on your individual stage of development during the transition from the Bachelor of Education to the Master of Education in a clearing discussion. This discussion is intended to enable you to make a personal orientation and assessment and to discuss possible questions with regard to your further professional biographical development. We will focus closely on your personal questions and your individual counseling assignment.

The interview takes place in a protected setting, subject to confidentiality, and is conducted by a trained counselor. The duration of the consultation will be adapted to your individual counseling needs within a maximum of 120 minutes. 

The following list of possible questions should give you an idea of how you can use this transitional counseling between B. Ed. and M. Ed. for yourself personally (this is only for your orientation, different questions are of course allowed at any time):

• On request, it is possible to discuss the TüSE - Check your Choice assessment result. However, the result itself does not necessarily have to be disclosed. It merely serves as an occasion for consultation and remains with you. The aim is not to create a suitability diagnosis in this context! Rather, you can clarify in the consultation how you personally classify the result and how you can make further use of it for yourself.
• If you would like to make a targeted commitment to your professional development and clarify how you could proceed, you will have the opportunity to reflect on your study and career-related goals, discuss your further options and keep an eye on any limitations.
• If you are unsure whether studying or the teaching profession really suits you (yet) or if you are experiencing particular stresses that are affecting your studies and/or your professional orientation, the counseling session will give you the space to discuss your personal situation in a protected setting and to sort it out in the light of existing opportunities and limitations. 

If you still need further information, advice or support after the TüSE - Reflect your Choice clearing meeting, we will help you to find suitable offers within and outside the university. To a certain extent, it is also possible to arrange follow-up appointments with the TüSE Information and Advice Center.
