If you already have a bwGRiD account you can login to the hpc-bw inserting the following command in the terminal. Instead of "username" use your ZDV user ID. Then you will asked for your ZDV password.

ssh ZDV_LOGIN_ID@hpc-bw.uni-tuebingen.de

If you prefer using a graphical user interface install the NX Client, called NoMachine Player. For the configuration of NoMachine Player use this tutorial.

In order to use the ressources of Tübingen as an extern user you need to apply for an so-called "service account". Therefore you will get a bwGRiD Shibboleth Entitlement from your Identity Provider (IDP). For that contact your local computer center. Afterwards you can apply for an service account on the registration server of the university of tübingen.

When the registration progress is finished you can login on the bwGRiD cluster of Tübingen:

 ssh XX_LOGIN_ID@hpc-bw.uni-tuebingen.de

The abreviation XX has to be replaced with the appropriate university ID:

In order to use the ressources on the other locations, you need to apply for an service account. This takes place on the appropriate bwGRiD registration servers.

After you applied for a service account you can login to the appropriate cluster as following:

ssh tu_ZDV_LOGIN_ID@grid01.hs-esslingen.de

In order to use the batch system on the hpc-bw you first need a terminal, which comes with a bash. You don't have a bash shell yet? You can change it using following URL:

https://systemdienste.zdv.uni-tuebingen.de/util/chsh.php

After you have changed it, you need to re-login. Now check your shell writing "echo $SHELL" in the console. Additionally you need to copy the bash_profile and bashrc from /zdv-system/customer/ to ~/.bash_profile respectively ~/.bashrc, if they are not there already!
