In light of global challenges and increasing cultural diversity in classrooms, global awareness and intercultural competence are key elements in teacher training.
Our TüSE Internationalization department, together with its cooperation partners, offers a wide range of opportunities for international echange, networking and intercultural experiences. We advise students, school teachers, lecturers, and researchers at universities on questions relating to international teacher training.
We assist teacher training students in completing part of their studies abroad and also support them in taking opportunities to participate in international programs at the University of Tübingen. In this way, students can gain experience in different cultural and international contexts right here in Tübingen. Since internationalization does not simply mean “staying abroad,” it also means “internationalization @ home.”
We also consult with lecturers in teacher training on international opportunities in research and teaching, and provide assistance with networking and cooperation. In-service school teachers will also discover international networking opportunities and ways to integrate global awareness education into their teaching.
Global awareness education emphasizes the need for cultural and international experiences, reflexivity in global issues, and the interconnection of local and global issues on a personal, social, and professional level within the educational context.
The internationalization department at TüSE contributes to a comprehensive and reflective internationalization of teacher training as part of the Tübingen University's excellence and internationalization strategy. In line with the concept of “Research – Relevance – Responsibility. Open to New Challenges and a Global Scope of Action.”
