Lecture: Gunter Schubert, Taiwan after the 2024 National Elections

Prof. Gunter Schubert, Chair Professor of Greater China Studies at the University of Tübingen, will deliver the last session of Greater China Studies lecture series on 17th July at noon. His topic is:

Taiwan after the January 2024 National Elections - Challenges Ahead

This presentation discusses some of the key domestic and external challenges facing the new DPP minority government under President Lai Ching-te, who took office in May 2024. Emphasis will be placed on Taiwan's position in the ongoing restructuring of global supply chains in high-tech industries and Taiwan's geopolitical environment, which is increasingly shaped by the strategic competition between China and the United States.
