This article is for installing a SFTP Server at ZMBP to transfer big data outside.

To transfer data within the ZMBP you can use Transfer Network drive (prj009_ZMBP). But it is a problem to transfer data outside the ZMBP/University of Tübingen.

Use this tools to transfer data:

GigaMove (limit 2GB)

MS Cloud (1 TB space)

Alternativelly you can install a own SFTP Server

It is not possible to use a simple FTP-Server, because for security reasons the port 21 is blocked.
Fortunately the port 22 for SFTP is open.

Therefore you can install a SFTP Server.

Windows SFTP Server - mini sftp server.

There are many SFTP Server programs for Windows.

One of the best programs is CoreFTP

The same company offers an easy to install and run program called mini sftp server

Use WinSCP or FileZila as a SFTP Client

Mac SFTP Server

It is much more easy to use an Apple Mac Computer for SFTP Server.

The SFT Server is allready build in, you had only activate and configure the Server.
