24.04.2019 - This year, the Ars legendi-Faculty Prize for Sports Science was awarded to Verena Burk from the Institute of Sports Science at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen. The award is endowed with 10,000 euros.
The Ars legendi-Faculty Prize in Sports Science is awarded to scientists who have distinguished themselves through outstanding, innovative and exemplary achievements in teaching, counselling and support. The prize is awarded for the second time by the Stifterverband, the Faculty Day of Sports Science, in cooperation with the German Association of Sports Science.
The nine-member jury, made up of representatives of experts, representatives of university didactics and students, chose Verena Burk from the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. "The high quality of the applications was impressive and did not make the decision easy," said Detlef Kuhlmann, Chairman of the Faculty Day of Sports Science and Chairman of the Jury. "After in-depth discussion, the choice fell on an outstanding candidate who impressively embodies the ideal of a proven scientist with special interest and commitment to teaching."
Verena Burk impressed the jury with her diverse projects. As senior lecturer at the Institute of Sports Science at the University of Tübingen, she is significantly involved in the development, implementation and further development of courses and course formats. In addition, she has rendered great services especially to the design and implementation of the course of studies "Sports Science with a profile in Sports Journalism", which she is responsible for.
