Fancy a relaxed evening of dancing with a great atmosphere, friendly people, and a touch of the Caribbean? We warmly invite you to a Bachata night that kicks off with a short dance class (approx. 45 min.).
No prior experience necessary—the class is for anyone who wants to move and have fun.
We’ll be dancing Bachata Moderna, which isn’t very “close-contact,” and the first steps and figures are easy to learn, even for absolute beginners.
Individuals and couples are welcome!
We usually switch partners during the class, but if you’d rather dance with a regular partner, you’re welcome to do so. The gender division isn’t strict—everyone can identify as a “follower” or “leader.”
When dancing, leaders and followers are dance partners who take turns. The leader leads the dance, while the follower responds and interprets the leader’s movements.
If there happens to be a slight surplus of followers or leaders: no problem—we’ll just take a 3-minute break before continuing.
As is typical for the university, the class begins and ends by transforming the seminar room into a dance hall and clearing the tables together. Non-German speakers welcome!
