Organizational change in sports federations

As part of the course “Structural Challenges of Organizational Development in Sports” taught by Dr. Marcel Fahrner, a group of students discussed with executives of various sports organisations.

On 29 January, M.Sc. Sport Management and M.Sc. Sports Science students discussed with executives from various sports federations at SpOrt in Stuttgart. Firstly, the CEOs Thomas Dieterich (Württemberg Handball Federation) and Emanuel Vailakis (Württemberg Swimming Federation) answered questions about the planned merger of the handball and swimming federations in Baden-Württemberg. The students then met with Ulrike Hoffmann (Baden-Württemberg State Sports Confederation) to discuss the opportunities and challenges of the "N!Charta Sport" program and the future capabilities of sport organizations in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg.
