General announcements for winter term 2025
Most of the lectures, seminars and other events require student's registration. This is possible either via alma, via ILIAS or via third party. Please check the information given at the alma portal corresponding to the respective lecture. Caution: Some of the events have registration deadlines. For further inquiries please contact the lecturers directly.
Master program starting event
The starting event for new master students will be held on Monday, October 13th at 12.15 p.m. in the seminar room H2C16 (building H)
New regulations and module handbooks
Starting at upcoming winter term 2025/2026, the new exam regulations and module handbook of our master program will be valid. This counts for all new beginners at winter term 2025/2026. Already enrolled students (higher semesters) are not involved. Please check the Master program section for further details.

Invitation to NANOSUM 2026 in Sacrofano
NANOSUM 2026 goes to Italy! The fourth edition of this European summer school on nanosciences and nanotechnologies will take place in Sacrofano, nearby Rome. Once more teachers and students from universities of Aix/Marseille, Rome, Santiago de Compostela, Bucharest and Tübingen will meet virtually from April 20th, 2026, on and physically from June 14-19, 2026, to learn more and discuss on state of the art and future of nanosciences and nanotechnologies. More information about previous NANOSUM editions (homepage for NANOSUM 2026 is under construction) you will find here or here.
As a master or PhD student of Nano-Science (and related subjects) in Tübingen you are eligible to apply for this summer school. If you are selected to take part at NANOSUM 2026 most of your travel expenses and attendance fee will be covered then by the EU. Successful participation at NANOSUM 2026 will be awarded with 6 ECTS and can be accounted for M. Sc. Focus Modules. Please be aware that the application period is just from October 1-30, 2025!
If you are interested in NANOSUM 2026 please contact Dr. Kolukisaoglu until October 13th, 2025. An information meeting for interested students will take place on Wednesday, October 15th, at 1 pm in room 4U09 in the ZMBP. There you will also get further information on the application procedure, the subjects of next year´s NANOSUM, and about the meeting itself.
Advanced Topics in Nanochemistry (master program - module Nano-Science IV)
The seminar “Advanced Topics in Nanochemistry” is now open for registration in ILIAS. Please enroll if you want to join until the deadline October 10th, 2025. In this seminar, every participant presents a special chemistry topic, which is drawn by lot. The complete schedule will be published in ILIAS at October 13th, 2025. The starting event will be at the first regular date at October 17th at 12.15 p.m. THIS EVENT IS MANDATORY OR ALL PARTICIPANTS WITHOUT ANY EXCEPTIONS!!! No starting event -> no presentation.

Examination office
Dates at the examination office are only available on appointment.
Clarification on Master thesis registration
You are allowed to register your Master thesis when you have finished the modules M1 to M8 (confirmed via transcript). Before starting your Master theses you have to register using the registration sheet at Dr. Schrenk. The registration of an already running Master thesis is not possible. So please follow the general istructions below:
- first finishing modules M1 - M8
- then registration of your Master thesis
- then starting the Master thesis

Important information on Focus module physics
Grades in Focus Module A and B will be sent directly to the examination office. Grades of lectures belonging to Focus Module C and grades of the lab module D will be sent to Prof. Oettel (no additional certificate needed). All final confirmations in the Focus Module form will be made by Prof. Oettel or apl Prof. Hans-Joachim Schöpe.
