Goals:

Research in nanoscience is characterized by an increasing collaboration between the classical disciplines biology, chemistry and physics and is speedily gaining relevance for developments in technology and society. In this context, the Tübingen nanoBCP-Lab will develop novel nanoparticles and push their applicaton in biological research. The specific coupling of the nanoparticles to single biomolecules and measuring their function and behavior are of central importance. We aim for designing through targeted synthesis nanoparticles with optimal excitation spectra for applications in cells as well as propensity for biomimetic structure formation.
