About

Mawa Dafreville is a postdoctoral researcher with a cross-disciplinary background, driven by a central interest in multimodal communication and comparative approaches to human and non-human primates. Her previous work has focused on the social and communicative development of young primates (prelinguistic infants, chimpanzees, olive baboons, and vervet monkeys) observed in ecological contexts. She is now thrilled to investigate the plasticity of multimodal communication in bonobos with our AG “Pathways to Language”, combining data from both wild and captive populations.
