Applications for Master’s degrees at the University of Tübingen can be submitted for the winter semester or the summer semester.
If you are a citizen of a European Union country, the application deadline is May 31 for the winter term and March 31 for the summer term.
If you are not a citizen of a European Union country, the application deadline is May 31 for the following winter semester and January 15 for the following summer semester.

The following documents must be attached to the application for admission:
- certified copy of B.A. diploma (or equivalent university degree) with an average grade of 2.5 or better
- certified copy of high school diploma (‘Abiturzeugnis’/’Hoschulzugangs¬berechtigung’ or equivalent)
- letter of motivation (max. 500 words) in English stating the applicant’s motivation for pursuing his/her studies in the Master’s program in American Studies at the University of Tübingen
- additional qualifications and other certificates, e.g. professional experience or other practical experience (internship, traineeship, etc.) in areas relevant to the profile of the program
