BraLat nimmt am 6. Internationalen Forum für Global South Studies teil

Die Veranstaltung findet vom 30. Oktober bis 14. November statt und bietet ein breites und vielfältiges Programm.

Das Baden-Württembergische Brasilien- und Lateinamerika-Zentrum der Universität Tübingen (BraLat) freut sich, eines der kooperierenden Zentren des 6. Internationalen Forums für Global South Studies „Doing Futures in Precarious Times“ zu sein, das vom Interdisciplinary Centre for Global South Studies der Universität Tübingen in Zusammenarbeit mit internationalen Partneruniversitäten veranstaltet wird.

Das Forum richtet sich an Forschende der Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften, Künstler:innen, Aktivist:innen und politische Akteure und untersucht die Bedeutung des „Doing Futures“ im heutigen Kontext globaler Unsicherheit. Die Initiative betrachtet pluralistische, alternative und verflochtene Zukünfte und fokussiert darauf, wie Gesellschaften und Individuen im Globalen Süden ihre Zukunft gestalten und projizieren. Dabei werden Epistemologien und Theorien aus dem Süden, einschließlich amerindischer und afrikanischer indigener Kosmopolitiken, lateinamerikanischer feministischer und dekolonialer Praktiken sowie kreativer Formen sozialer, feministischer und indigener Widerstände, hervorgehoben.

Die Veranstaltung verfolgt einen transdisziplinären und transkontinentalen Ansatz und bezieht verschiedene Fachbereiche wie Literaturwissenschaft, Medienwissenschaft, Politikwissenschaft, Anthropologie, Aktivismus, künstlerische Praxis und Film ein, um einen Raum für Reflexion über Kreativität und Handlungsmacht in unsicheren Zeiten zu schaffen.

Mit dieser Kooperation bekräftigt BraLat sein Engagement für internationale Zusammenarbeit und die Stärkung des akademischen und kulturellen Dialogs zwischen Brasilien, Lateinamerika und globalen Partnern.

BraLat participa do 6º Fórum Internacional de Estudos sobre o Sul Global

Evento, que acontece de 30 de outubro a 14 de novembro, traz uma programacao ampla e diversificada

O Baden-Württemberg Center for Brazil and Latin America at the Universität Tübingen (BraLat) tem a honra de ser um dos cooperadores do 6th International Forum on Global South Studies “Doing Futures in Precarious Times”, promovido pelo Interdisciplinary Centre for Global South Studies, da Universidade de Tübingen, em parceria com universidades internacionais.

O Fórum, voltado a pesquisadores das humanidades e ciências sociais, artistas, ativistas e atores políticos, debate os significados de “fazer futuros” em um contexto de incertezas globais. A iniciativa explora futuros plurais, alternativos e entrelaçados, com foco em como sociedades e indivíduos do Sul Global constroem e projetam suas trajetórias futuras, valorizando epistemologias e teorias originárias do Sul, incluindo cosmopolíticas indígenas africanas e ameríndias, práticas feministas e decoloniais da América Latina, e formas criativas de resistência social, feminista e indígena.

O evento destaca a abordagem transdisciplinar e transcultural, envolvendo áreas como estudos literários, mídia, ciências políticas, antropologia, ativismo, criação artística e cinema, promovendo um espaço de reflexão sobre criatividade e agência em tempos de incerteza.

Com esta cooperação, o BraLat reafirma seu compromisso com a cooperação internacional e o fortalecimento do diálogo acadêmico e cultural entre o Brasil, a América Latina e parceiros globais.

BraLat Participates in the 6th International Forum on Global South Studies
The event will take place from October 30 to November 14 and offers a broad and diverse program

The Baden-Württemberg Center for Brazil and Latin America at the University of Tübingen (BraLat) is honored to be one of the cooperating institutions of the 6th International Forum on Global South Studies “Doing Futures in Precarious Times”, organized by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Global South Studies at the University of Tübingen, together with its international partner universities.

The Forum invites researchers from the humanities and social sciences, artists, activists, and political actors to explore the meanings of “doing futures” in today’s context of global uncertainty. The initiative examines plural, alternative, and entangled futures, focusing on how societies and individuals in the Global South construct and project themselves into their futures. It highlights epistemologies and theories from the South, including Amerindian and African indigenous cosmopolitics, Latin American feminist and decolonial practices, and creative forms of social, feminist, and indigenous resistance.

The event adopts a transdisciplinary and transcontinental approach, engaging multiple fields such as literary studies, media studies, political science, anthropology, activism, artistic creation, and film, creating a space for reflection on creativity and agency in uncertain times.

Through this cooperation, BraLat reaffirms its commitment to international collaboration and the strengthening of academic and cultural dialogue between Brazil, Latin America, and global partners.
