InTheGra – International Thematic Grant: funding from FAPESP for Brazilian or foreign researchers living abroad with outstanding track records who wish to join universities or research institutions in the State of São Paulo, Brazil. Up to 20 projects will be selected. Deadline: June 30.
The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) has launched a call for proposals for the International Thematic Grant (InTheGra), aimed at fostering the integration of outstanding researchers—Brazilians or foreigners—who have been living abroad and are currently without employment (for less than 12 months), into qualified higher education and research institutions in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.
The research project must follow the guidelines of FAPESP’s Thematic Project Grant program. These projects are characterized by their boldness, scope, and the high level of experience required from the Principal Investigator. They involve teams of multiple researchers, often from different departments or institutions, and are expected to produce significant advances in scientific or technological knowledge.

Support is provided in the form of a grant. Principal Investigators who are not yet formally employed by a research institution in São Paulo may also receive an InTheGra Fellowship for a period of up to 24 months.
A maximum of 20 projects will be selected in this call. The submission deadline is 30 June 2025.
The call includes:
▪️ Grant of up to R$21,960/month, for up to 24 months (non-renewable)
▪️ Funding for a Thematic Project
▪️ Two installation grants (for travel and spouse's relocation)
▪️ Additional funding from the host institution for an additional 36 months
At the end of the five years, researchers are expected to be permanently
integrated into the São Paulo research system.
