Application deadline: March 1, 2025
The University of Tübingen, Faculty of Science, DFG Research Training Group (GRK 2381), has an open call for fully funded
PhD positions in Biomedicine (m/f/d, E13 TV-L, 65%)
starting July 1, 2025.
The initial fixed-term contract will be for 3 years.
We are looking for highly motivated graduates holding a Master's degree to join our recently extended DFG Research Training Group
cGMP: From Bedside to Bench (GRK 2381)
aiming to gain critical new insights into the second messenger cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP)’s role in cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders. cGMP is responsible for the transmission of signals in cells, and many drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases target this signaling pathway. The latest findings suggest that cGMP-modulating drugs can be used even more widely. An important element of the GRK is its strong international dimension. Each student will be co-mentored by a principal investigator from another international institution (e.g. Harvard Medical School) who works on a related topic and she/he will visit the partner laboratory for a period of three months. Using state-of-the-art techniques including transgenic mouse and human cell models, advanced bio-imaging, and live-cell analyses, fellows will gain critical new insights into cGMP’s role in cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders.
The application deadline is March 1, 2025.
For further information on the PhD program and the application procedure please visit our GRK 2381 Website. Questions regarding the applications can be send to our coordinator, Dr. Petya Georgieva, at petya.georgievaspam prevention@uni-tuebingen.de.
The University of Tübingen seeks to increase the fraction of female scientists in research and teaching and particularly encourages applications from women. Disabled candidates are given preference if equally qualified.
