Competence Modelling and Competence Development
Problem Statement/Objective of the Special Interest Group (SIG)
The SIG’s starting point is the already existing TüSE project Competence Modelling and Competence Development. Until now, this project has dealt with the question of which competences teachers (and trainee teachers) need in the subjects English Studies and Mathematics in order to successfully teach the skills to be acquired by students. The competences of teaching staff include both subject-specific and subject-didactic competences. Their structure, relationship with each other and development during teacher education are the research subjects of the existing project. The SIG aims to facilitate exchange on these topics with representatives of other subjects. It provides a forum in which theoretical concepts and empirical findings from different subjects and thematic areas can be discussed.
