Tübingen School of Education (TüSE)

Offers for teaching faculty and researchers

You are teaching or conducting research in the context of teacher training, schools, and education, and would like to become more internationally oriented and networked?

This section provides information on various ways and opportunities on how to improve the quality of teaching and research, promote cultural competence and the integration of new didactic concepts, and foster global perspectives in university teaching and research.

Research or teaching stay abroad

For research or teaching stays abroad via Erasmus+ staff mobility, you can proceed as follows:

  1. For a stay at one of University Tübingen's partner universities, you must first identify a suitable counterpart, i.e., an institution or colleague with a similar research focus and interest. Together, you will develop a goal for your stay abroad and determine a time frame. We are happy to establish contact with partner institutions that we, as TüSE, already cooperate with.
  2. The next step requires a letter of invitation issed by the host institution, which defines the framework of the guest lectureship.
  3. Funding can be applied for through the International Office as part of the Erasmus+ staff mobility program.

General and further information on programs abroad can be found on the International Office's page on Teaching / training abroad.

As part of the Excellence Strategy, international exchange with cooperation partners (at the professorial level) continues to be promoted in order to further expand and strengthen the network with strategically important partners. In the course of mutual visits with cooperation partners, joint international third-party funded projects and joint research projects can be initiated.

How to invite international guests to Tübingen

If you are already in contact with a colleague abroad who you wish to invite to the University of Tübingen as an international visiting scholars, the first step is to clarify the financial responsibilities and how the stay in Tübingen can be funded. With regard to funding (e.g., via Erasmus+), the invitee may contact the international office of the their sending institution to learn about mobility and funding options. If you would like to invite colleagues but do not yet have a suitable counterpart, we will be pleased to assist you in finding contacts through our TüSE network partners.

Please also contact the University Tübingen Welcome Center for international researchers before a letter of invitation can be issued to the visiting scholar as a following step.

Another option to welcome international scholars is the Teach@Tübingen program, in which international postdocs can apply for a one-year stay at the University of Tübingen and be affiliated with the host chair.

Create international teaching and learning formats
