Terms of use

The Tübingen University Library has concluded agreements with various publishers to ensure library users have access to a wide range of e-books. These agreements include conditions regarding the proper use of the services. By accessing resources under the publishers’ licences, you undertake to comply with the following rules:

• Access is only granted to members of the university and registered users of the University Library.
• Use is only permitted for personal or research purposes. Commercial use is not permitted.
• You are not permitted to pass on all or part of e-books to others.
• Systematic downloading is strictly prohibited.

Data Mining: Under certain conditions some providers permit data mining, i.e. automated download of electronic content for statistical analysis. However this requires prior agreement with the provider and their express consent. Otherwise it constitutes breach of contract, with corresponding legal consequences – for both the user and the University  – and we therefore request that you contact us if you wish to undertake such analysis!
