Social Media Communication – Project with Bundesliga Club

20.09.2016 – A research based consultancy project was recently completed by the Department for Sport Economics, Sport Management and Media Research on behalf of the German Bundesliga Club VfL Wolfsburg. During this project, the social media guidelines by the club were modified according to some latest research findings from the department team. Moreover, several workshops were organized for players from the women’s and men’s Bundesliga teams as well as the U23 and U19 teams in order to transfer some of the most relevant insights from social media research in sports. “During recent years, social media in sports has significantly grown in importance. We conducted this project in order to meet our responsibility and to further develop the club’s communication strategies”, said VfL manager Klaus Allofs. Christoph G. Grimmer was responsible for conducting the project.
