Tübingen Lectures in Sport Economics

Online winter lectures by renowned researchers from Australia and the US on implementing mixture modelling and machine learning techniques with sports data, economic effects of teams and stadiums as well as behavioral (sports) economics.

Invited by the Institute of Sports Science (Research Group in Sport Economics, Sport Management & Media Research) and the Tübingen Data Science and Sports Lab three renowned researchers will present their current research in December and February.

On December 7, Dr. Stephanie Kovalchik (Senior Data Scientist at Zelus Analytics) presents her latest findings on “Mixture modelling with sports data“. One week later, i.e. on December 14, Professor Nola Agha (University of San Francisco, USA) talks about her research on Economic development effects of teams and stadiums”. The final lecture will be held by Professor Benno Torgler (Queensland University of Technology, AUS) on “Behavioural (sport) economics, AI, and quantum computing”.

The presentations will take place online (via ZOOM). All students and colleagues interested in these topics are cordially invited. Registration via Email is required: christina.toellespam prevention@uni-tuebingen.de.
