MEC-View

This work leverages mobile edge computing (MEC) based on LTE and 5G networks to gather multiple sensor data about road traffic, to fuse it with other information, to process it and to provide it to potential users in real-time. The data may be exploited for autonomous driving, in particular to decide whether a current traffic condition is safe enough to enable autonomous mode.

The context of this work is a supervised doctoral thesis project carried out at Mercedes-Benz in Sindelfingen (2017-2020) which is embedded in the BMWi collaboration project MEC-View.
