Helen Sjursen is Research Professor at the University of Oslo (ARENA – Centre for European Studies). She is scientific coordinator of the EU-Horizon 2020 funded project Reconsidering European Contributions to Global Justice (GLOBUS), in which our Institute is a partner. She holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from the London School of Economics (LSE). Before joining the University of Oslo, she held previous positions at University College Dublin, the University of Glasgow and the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her work focuses on theories of international relations, democracy and foreign policy, the EU's external policies, EU enlargement, and Norwegian foreign policy. She has published widely on EU foreign and security policy, EU enlargement and global justice. She is editor of The EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy. The Quest for Democracy (Routledge, 2012) and has contributed articles to the Journal of Common Market Studies, the Journal of European Public Policy and International Affairs, among others.
