In memoriam - Prof. Eliezer Barreiro

As director of the Baden-Württemberg Center for Brazil and Latin America at the Universität Tübingen, Prof. Stefan Laufer sadly announces the passing of Prof. Eliezer Barreiro.

Prof. Eliezer Jesus de Lacerda Barreiro left us at the age of 76 on Monday, April 8. He was an esteemed Brazilian researcher, a professor at the University of Rio de Janeiro, a long collaborator of with the University of Tübingen and a friend. He leaves behind a legacy of unparalleled dedication and wisdom.

His career and scientific contributions highlight what a great scientist and science enthusiast he was. We can only thank him for the collaboration we developed together.

We are overwhelmed by the passing of this dear friend and wish his family and friends every comfort at this time.
