Tübingen Science Bridge Latin America: “Navigating the Ethics and Governance in Times of Generative AI Systems”

The next online seminar from the program Tübingen Science Bridge – Latin America (Humanities) will take place on June 21st at 04:00 pm MEZ (11:00 am BRT) and this year will focus on the Humanities and Social Sciences' approach to Artificial Intelligence, a topic of crucial importance in the contemporary debate.
The lecture has the participation of Dr. Ana María Castillo, Professor at the Faculty of Communication and Image of the Universidad de Chile and director of the interdisciplinary group "Núcleo Inteligencia Artificial y Sociedad" (Artificial Intelligence and Society Nucleus). She holds a degree in Social Communication, a master’s degree in communication from the Universidad Austral de Chile, and a PhD in Communication and Journalism from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. Her research areas include Practices with Technologies and Media, Ethics and Governance of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and the Future of Work, Communication and Education. She will put on the agenda the theme Title: “Navigating the Ethics and Governance in Times of Generative AI Systems”.
The program, an initiative of the Baden-Württemberg Center for Brazil and Latin America at the Universität Tübingen, aims to contribute to the internationalization of science and research. Scientists from several partner institutions will present their latest research data, promoting an integrated and constructive environment for scientific interaction and contributing global knowledge.
The lectures of the Tübingen Science Bridge are aimed at professors and scientific researchers, graduate students, as well as a more the general audience.
The online seminar will be held in English on the ZOOM platform in order to allow discussion and interaction.

Este ano, os seminários se concentrarão na abordagem das Ciências Humanas e Sociais à Inteligência Artificial, um tópico de importância crucial no debate contemporâneo.
A palestra terá a participação da Dra. Ana María Castillo, professora da Faculdade de Comunicação e Imagem da Universidade do Chile e diretora do grupo interdisciplinar "Núcleo Inteligência Artificial e Sociedade" (Artificial Intelligence and Society Nucleus). Ela é formada em Comunicação Social, mestre em comunicação pela Universidad Austral de Chile e doutora em Comunicação e Jornalismo pela Universidade Autônoma de Barcelona. Suas áreas de pesquisa incluem Practices with Technologies and Media, Ethics and Governance of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and the Future of Work, Communication and Education. Em pauta estará o tema “Navigating the Ethics and Governance in Times of Generative AI Systems”.
O programa, uma iniciativa do Centro Brasileiro e Latino-Americano de Baden-Württemberg da Universidade de Tübingen, tem como foco a internacionalização da ciência e da pesquisa. Cientistas de diversas instituições parceiras apresentam seus últimos dados de pesquisa, promovendo um ambiente integrado e construtivo da ciência e, ainda, disseminando o conhecimento global.
As palestras on-line do Tübingen Science Bridge são destinadas a professores e pesquisadores científicos, alunos de pós-graduação, como também para o público em geral. Os webinars acontecem em inglês na plataforma ZOOM para permitir a discussão e interação.

Das nächste Online-Seminar im Rahmen des Programms Tübingen Science Bridge – Latin America (Humanities) wird am 21. Juni um 04:00 pm MEZ (11:00 am BRT) stattfinden. In diesem Jahr werden sich die Seminare auf den geistes- und sozialwissenschaftlichen Umgang mit Künstlicher Intelligenz konzentrieren, ein Thema, das in der aktuellen Debatte von entscheidender Bedeutung ist.
Der Vortrag wird von Ana María Castillo, Professorin an der Faculty of Communication and Image of the Universidad de Chile und Direktorin der interdisziplinären Gruppe "Núcleo Inteligencia Artificial y Sociedad" (Artificial Intelligence and Society Nucleus) gehalten. Sie hat einen Abschluss in sozialer Kommunikation, einen Master in Kommunikation von der Universidad Austral de Chile und einen Doktortitel in Kommunikation und Journalismus von der Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. Zu ihren Forschungsgebieten gehören Praktiken im Umgang mit Technologien und Medien, Ethik und Governance der künstlichen Intelligenz, digitale Wirtschaft und die Zukunft der Arbeit, Kommunikation und Bildung. Das Thema des Vortrags lautet “Navigating the Ethics and Governance in Times of Generative AI Systems”.
Das Programm ist eine Initiative des Baden-Württembergischen Brasilien- und Lateinamerika-Zentrum. Das Ziel gilt es um einen Beitrag zur Internationalisierung von Wissenschaft und Forschung leisten. Hochkarätige Wissenschaftler:innen der verschiedenen Partnerinstitutionen präsentieren ihre neuesten Forschungsergebnisse und tragen damit zu einer gemeinsamen und konstruktiven Basis für die wissenschaftliche Zusammenarbeit bei.
Die Vorträge der Tübingen Science Bridge richten sich besonders an Hochschullehrer:innen und (Nachwuchs-)Wissenschaftler:innen, sowie an ein allgemeines wissenschaftlich interessiertes Publikum. Die Veranstaltungen finden auf Englisch über die Plattform ZOOM statt, um eine Diskussion und Interaktion zu ermöglichen.

El próximo seminario online del programa Tübingen Science Bridge – Latin America (Humanities) tendrá lugar el 21 de junio las 04:00 pm MEZ (11:00 am BRT) y este año se centrará en la aproximación de las Humanidades y las Ciencias Sociales a la Inteligencia Artificial, un tema de crucial importancia en el debate contemporáneo.
La charla contará con la participación de la Dra. Ana María Castillo, Profesora Titular de la Facultad de Comunicación e Imagen de la Universidad de Chile y directora del grupo interdisciplinario "Núcleo Inteligencia Artificial y Sociedad". Es Licenciada en Comunicación Social, Magíster en Comunicación de la Universidad Austral de Chile y Doctora en Comunicación y Periodismo de la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. Sus áreas de investigación incluyen Prácticas con Tecnologías y Medios, Ética y Gobernanza de la Inteligencia Artificial, Economía Digital y Futuro del Trabajo, Comunicación y Educación. Ella presentará la conferencia con el título: “Navigating the Ethics and Governance in Times of Generative AI Systems”.
El programa, una iniciativa del Centro para Brasil y Latinoamérica de Baden-Württemberg de la Universidad de Tübingen, pretende contribuir a la internacionalización de la ciencia y la investigación.
