ECBAE 2026 

We are delighted to announce that the 8th edition of Experimental and Corpus-Based Approaches to Ellipsis (ECBAE) will take at the Hohentübingen Castle, Tübingen, Germany, on 19-20 August 2026. 

Workshop description

The workshop brings together researchers using empirical methods to investigate fragmentary sentences and related phenomena across languages. It will provide an opportunity to discuss how cross-linguistic and experimental approaches can advance our understanding of ellipsis, sentence fragments, and their interfaces with syntax, semantics, and pragmatics.
While the main focus is on experimental and cross-linguistic research, we also welcome theoretical and other non-experimental contributions that engage with the topics of fragmentary sentences, ellipsis, and related aspects of linguistic structure and use.
