Information regarding late arrival

You should arrive until the start of the semester which is in mid-October (winter semester) / mid-April (summer semester). If you would be arriving after November 1st (winter semester) / May 1st (summer semester), please be aware of the following:

  • You will have already missed important classes which, especially with respect to laboratory work, cannot be repeated!
Since courses are offered once a year, this means you have to wait a year in order to successfully take and pass these specific courses.

Students who received late admission to the MSc Geowissenschaften / Geosciences program should also be aware of the following:

  • You need to find accommodation!
This is extremely (!!!) difficult and expensive on the private market, and places in student dorms are very limited. For information on student housing see the links in the FAQ's section.

Please do not ignore these problems!

If you cannot arrive on time, it is best to reapply for the following semester. This would also give you enough time to apply for a visa as well as for student housing.
