In 2024, the RadCHECK event was once again a complete success for us - and hopefully for you too. We are therefore pleased to inform you that the RadCHECK event will take place again next year. So “Save the Date” and until then: happy cycling!
The RadCHECK event took place for the 4th time on 24.04.2024. Fortunately, the weather was reasonably good so that the event could take place as planned on the grounds of the Institute of Sports Science (Alberstraße 27). This year, around 120 bicycles were checked by over 15 student RadCHCKER:INNEN. The waiting time for the RadCHECK could be bridged with the varied supporting program. At the DIY bike maintenance event, students learned how to maintain their bikes themselves. At the UKBW bicycle simulator, students could test their reaction speed in road traffic. At the TK Ergonmieberatung, students were able to get tips on ergonomic cycling. The sports student council and Kaffee Ape “von Erden” provided refreshments.
On 25.04.2023 it was time again and the RadCHECK event opened its doors for the third time. While 115 bikes were checked at the RadCHECK, there was also the opportunity to care for and clean the bikes themselves. Exciting highlights such as the virtual reality application #AUGENBLICKWINKEL360 and the UKBW bicycle simulator, the sustainability station on the 17 SDGs, the movement snack on tour, the photo box as well as the TK bicycle mobile, once again ensured a varied event. This year's greetings by the Rector of the University of Tübingen, Prof. Dr. Pollmann, the Director of the Institute of Sports Science, Prof. Dr. Höner, the Mayor of the City of Tübingen, Mr. Palmer, and the Head of University Sports, Ms. Arzberger, were another highlight. The speeches were prefaced by a captivating show of the dance group "Saltantes". The sports department took care of the physical well-being with refreshing drinks and offers from the grill. In addition, the Kaffe Ape "von Erden" was present at the event for the first time.
On 26.04.2022, the second RadCHECK event took place after a three-year break due to the pandemic. It was opened by greetings from the deputy director of the institute Prof. Dr. Tim Pawlowski and the returning speakers Lord Mayor Boris Palmer and the head of university sports Ingrid Arzberger. Good mood for the following RadCHECK gave us the dance group Saltantes with their performance. Not only were numerous bicycles - 120 in number - checked by the hard-working BICYCLE CHECKERS, but there was also the opportunity to look after one's own bicycle. In addition, visitors could shoot bows, donate to the Ukrainians, have their bicycles ergonomically adjusted by the Techniker Krankenkasse (health insurance company), and quench their thirst at the sports department.
On 30.04.2019 the first RadCHECK event took place. The special event character through several side events like cheerful barbecue by the sports student council, several information booths, an after work party at the Kuckuck while dancing into May and special guests like Lord Mayor Boris Palmer, Institute Director Prof. Dr. Ansgra Thiel and the professional artistic cyclist Lara Füller made the RadCHECK a special afternoon!
Here are a few impressions from last year...
