What are Specialised Information Services (FID)?

Specialised Information Services (Fachinformationsdienste – FID) are scholarly infrastructure services for individual research communities. They are funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).

FID services provide specialised literature, databases, search tools and information services for research and scholarship. They complement the local collections and services of university libraries.

Tübingen University Library contributes to several FID programmes and supports researchers in accessing subject-specific information resources and digital research services.

If you work in a specialised research field, there may be an FID offering additional search, database or service options for your discipline. Your subject librarian can help you find the right service.
