QualiNet WiSO - Network for Qualitative Methods in Social Science and Economic Teaching and Research

At the University of Tübingen’s Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, in December 2011 a network for qualitative methods in teaching and research (QualiNet WiSO) was founded. The network’s objectives are:

  • In teaching, the program for conveying qualitative procedures is to be made more transparent across subjects and is to be better structured.
  • For students, it is to become clear which instructors in the respective subjects conduct research and teaching with a qualitative methodological focus.
  • In research, new opportunities for cooperative projects and project methods advising are to be identified and expanded.

At the Institute of Sociology, the following resources are available: a computer pool with ATLAS.ti installed, the leading software for analytical work with qualitative data.
Furthermore, the faculty holds licenses for MAXQDA.
