During the Christmas season, there will be an Advent challenge every Sunday in Advent. The prize is a one-month ticket.

The Challenges

1. Advent: Santa Surfer

Participation until: Sunday, 7 December, 5:00 PM

Description:

Participants must stand and balance on the surfboard.

While doing so, they must throw gifts (candies) into a “chimney” (a cardboard box) placed about 2 m away.

Time limit: 1 minute.

Hits only count if:

  • the candy is thrown while balancing, and
  • it stays inside the chimney.

If the person falls off the board, all throws must be paused until balance is restored.

Bonus: Christmas hat = +10 seconds.

2. Advent: Snowball Fight

 

Participation until: Sunday, 14 December, 5:00 PM

Description:
Procedure that is repeated continuously:

  • 1× Wall Ball
    • Women: 4 kg, lower target
    • Men: 6 kg, upper target
    • Squat depth does not matter
  • 1× Slam Ball Shoulder Throw
    • Women: 10 kg
    • Men: 12 kg
    • Shoulder side does not matter
  • Stations may be placed directly next to each other.
  • 1× Wall Ball + 1× Slam Ball Shoulder Throw = 1 repetition

Time limit: 1 minute.

Christmas hat: Bonus same as in Challenge 1.

3. Advent: Christmas Rush

Participation until: Sunday, 21 December, 5:00 PM

Description:

  • 500 m Rowing
    • Damper setting freely selectable.
  • 50 m Sled Push
    • Women: 50 kg
    • Men: 75 kg
    • The sled push must be performed on the treadmill.
  • Timing:
    • The clock stops during the transition between the rower and the sled push.
  • Scoring:
    • Fastest total time wins.

Christmas hat: –10 seconds.

4. Advent: White Christmas

Participation until: Sunday, 28 December, 5:00 PM
(Participation on-site still possible on 22 & 23 December; from 24 December onward via video)

Description:

  • Participants must hold a wall sit
    • From 24 December onward, they must film themselves
    • Participation on Monday & Tuesday is also possible on-site.
  • During the wall sit, participants must craft snowflakes:
    • Materials: square paper & scissors
    • The snowflake must be cut and unfolded during the wall sit
  • Scoring: 2 prizes
    • Longest wall sit time
    • Most beautiful snowflake
  • The snowflake must be photographed, labeled with the participant’s name, and submitted.

Christmas hat: +10 seconds.



Opening hours during the Christmas holidays

We are open as follows over the Christmas holidays:

22 & 23 December8:00 am - 8:00 pm
24 December to 1 Januaryfully closed
2 January to 6 January9:00 am - 5:00 pm


The institute is only heated to ~18°C during this time. Unfortunately, showers cannot be used.
