Offers for Students

We are constantly developing new services to meet the needs of our students. In the spirit of student health promotion, these services are available to all students free of charge as far as possible.

HSP plus - Physical Activity

Exercise can increase and maintain health, reduce stress and connect people. Our HSP plus offerings therefore range of low-threshold physical activity offers from active break activities to special programs for freshmen - and international students.

Active Breaks

Breaks in the daily study routine are important to maintain performance and well-being. If physical activity is integrated into the breaks, all the better! Depending on how much time you have, with our digital offers, the active break organization can be easily integrated into your daily study routine.

Balance Break: In the short clips you will be shown exercises that you can easily do directly at your desk.

Bewegungssnack digital: 5-7 minute digital movement break for relaxation and activation.

Bewegungssnack on Tour: Mobile small sports equipment and outdoor games rental.

During the winter semester our Bewegungssnack on Tour tours regulary around the campus. Students can borrow small sports and outdoor games for a deposit (student ID). Daily updated standings of the rental also will be announced on the social media channels.

 

Moving Classroom

Are you looking for a way to make your teaching more movement-friendly?  For all lecturers at the University of Tübingen there is now an online media library (Nextcloud), with which they have exclusive access to our digital movement breaks and other moving methods for teaching. If you are interested, please send us an email and you will receive the corresponding access data afterwards. Since WS 21/22, a selection of videos is also available in English.

3ex-Programm: Exchange, explore, exercise!

This course is aimed at all international students - especially the Degree Seeking Students and their Local Buddies. From the beginning of their stay in Tübingen, the participants should get to know the university sports and the movement compensation in the everyday study life in different ways in order to be sustainably strengthened for an active lifestyle - true to the motto: "exchange, explore, exercise". The course meets once a week to learn about a new course offered by the university sports department. In a fixed group, a protected framework for overcoming inhibitions together is guaranteed and at the same time the resource of social exchange and togetherness is strengthened.

Mental Health Offers

Everyday study life can be quite challenging at times. The SHM BeTaBalance offers a selection of programs to improve your mental health. You will also find a list of numerous contact points where you can get support.

Active against Stress - Consultation hour

For many students, stress is an everyday companion. To prevent the psychological stresses of everyday study from having a chronic effect on the psyche and body, it is important to counteract them preventively. In the Active Against Stress - One-to-One session, you will learn practical exercises tailored to your needs, such as relaxation and mindfulness exercises, with which you can overcome everyday hurdles in your study routine. The coaching is conducted by a qualified relaxation trainer.

Mental Health First Aid

What does MHFA mean?
MHFA stands for Mental Health First Aid - i.e. first aid for mental health (for others and also for yourself). Every year, a large number of students (from various disciplines/departments) are trained as MHFA first aiders.

Chemistry student council

MHFA training
In the MHFA First Aid course, you will learn about various mental illnesses and their symptoms. You will learn how to recognize those affected and how to help them. After successfully completing the seminar, you have the opportunity to qualify as a licensed MHFA first aider.  MHFAs are not psychotherapists, but students who are committed to the mental health of their fellow human beings. They are therefore a first point of contact. 

As an MHFA student, you will become part of our network, which meets once or twice a year for a social event and works together to raise awareness of mental health issues.

Counseling in case of difficulties in the course of studies (General Study Counseling Service)

If you have problems with your studies, the student advisors at the Central Student Advisory Service are there to help you. It is part of their self-image to understand problems and to work out possible solutions together with students. Depending on the concerns, it is also possible to arrange follow-up appointments within a certain framework.

Counseling topics include, for example:

  • Motivation problems
  • Learning problems, such as repeated "procrastination
  • Development of learning and study strategies
  • Time and work management
  • Inhibitions in giving presentations
  • Loss of the right to take exams and development of new perspectives
  • Exam preparation
  • Consideration of dropping out of studies
  • Contact problems during studies

The counseling is of course voluntary, open-ended and confidential.

It is estimated that there are more than 3,000 students at the University of Tübingen whose ability to study is affected by illness and/or disability. In order to support students in coping well with their studies, the University of Tübingen offers a special counseling service that can be used at any stage of the studies, i.e. even before the start of the studie

Compatibility of studies and family (Family Office)

Student Parents' Forum: The Student Parents' Forum is offered by the Family-Friendly University Working Group of the Tübingen Student Council.
No matter whether you have already started your studies with a child, have become pregnant in the meantime or have just had a child, you are always confronted with some challenges. The AK is your contact person on the topic of family. It would like to inform, show possibilities and master requirements together. The exchange with other student parents is important. That's why there are regular meetings every semester where you can exchange ideas and make contacts with other parents.

Information on studying with a child: Since studying with a child brings special challenges, there are some options at the university that can make the balancing act between family responsibilities and studying easier. Information about parental leave, vacation semesters, study organization, the compatibility of studies and family, family life on campus, studying abroad with a child or financing living expenses can be found here.

Family rooms: There are a variety of family rooms at the university. The retreats for students with children or expectant mothers can be reserved via the Family Office homepage.

pro Fahrrad - Bike related Offers

Everyday movements, such as cycling, increase health and well-being. 72% of students in Tübingen rely on bicycles in their daily lives. To be safe in traffic, it is important to regularly check on your two-wheeler. Our offers in the pro bike section help you with this and therefore range from bike checks and bike repair workshops to challenges and offers around the cargo bike.

RadCHECK

The RadCHECK event is an annual event where you can have your bike checked for free by experienced students and experts!
Our next RadCHECK event will take place in SS24!

Bike Repair WORKSHOP

The Bike repair WORKSHOPS are aimed at all students who have had little or no involvement with their bike. The goal of the workshops is to increase your skills so that you can maintain your bike yourself and make minor repairs.

BeTaBike - Cargo Bike of the Student Health Management

With our cargo bike you can transport equipment from A to B free of charge and flexibly. Please note: Before the first use, the completion of the introduction is necessary.

Every semester you have the chance to prove your skills on the bike. No matter if you are a beginner or an athlete - together in a team everyone can do their part! You can find all the important info on how to participate on our  Instagram-Channel.

A balanced diet is essential for balance and optimal performance in everyday (study) life. Our offers therefore provide guidance in the selection of foods and dishes.


Mensa Vital

MensaVital is the healthy menu line of the Studierendenwerk. MensaVital stands for fresh, balanced and contemporary food. The specially developed recipes take into account both regional and international cooking influences as well as a balanced composition of ingredients. Every Monday we inform you on our Instagram channel which Mensa Vital menus are coming up in the next week. Feel free to check it out!
