The application for an IP address for a network printer is analogous to the application for IP addresses for other devices. Most important is here the specification of the device type printer.
Network printers are operated in a private network reserved for this purpose only. This applies to both leasing equipment from Morgenstern and directly procured printers. Therefore, network sockets that have been configured for printer operation, can no longer be used to operate other devices (PC, laptop, etc.).
The formerly common, mixed operation of printers with other devices on a single port (via desktop switch) is no longer possible, for the same reason.
