Conference theme

"Sport labour economics" – 60 years after Rottenberg's seminal article was published in the Journal of Political Economy the links between sport and labour economics are still very close. Traditionally, topics related to elite sports, i.e. the distribution of player talent, transfer systems, players' salaries and salary caps, are discussed in this context. The understanding of the conference theme goes, however, beyond this and also considers topics related to leisure sports in this context (e.g. "value of voluntary work" or "labour market effects of sports participation").
