Announcement: On the necessity of animal experiments in biomedical research
The debate about the necessity of animal experiments in research is usually very emotional.
It is often ignored that the tremendous advances in medicine would not have been possible without animal testing: Vaccines and antibiotics, painkillers and anesthetics, radiation therapy, blood transfusion and organ transplantation, heart surgery and kidney dialysis - all these therapies were developed on animals and every human being who wants to stay healthy or become healthy makes use of them.
