Successful PhD Defense of Hadi Shokati
Congratulations to Hadi Shokati on the successful defense of his PhD dissertation at the University of Tübingen.
As a doctoral researcher in the DFG-funded DYLAMUST project, Hadi’s research brought together deep learning, remote sensing, and process-based modeling to address key challenges in environmental assessment. His dissertation, A Unified Framework for Advancing Soil Erosion and Flood Assessment Through Deep Learning and Process-Based Modeling, introduces new approaches for reconstructing and forecasting rainfall erosivity, improving soil erosion and sediment transport modeling, and enabling rapid mapping of erosion and flood impacts from high-resolution aerial imagery.
We warmly congratulate Hadi on this important milestone and wish him every success in the next stage of his academic career.
