Prof. Baten becomes a member of the Academia Europeae
The Academia Europaea is an independent scholarly society and the European Union’s Academy of Humanities and Sciences.
Founded in 1988 on the initiative of the Royal Society and other National Academies in Europe, the Academia is the only Europe-wide academy which covers the full range of academic disciplines. The Academia serves as official advisor to the European Union. Election to the Academia is widely considered to be one of the highest honors that a European scientist or scholar may receive. Jörg Baten, Professor of Economic History at the University of Tübingen received such an invitation and is delighted to accept this honorarium.
