Artificial Intelligence and Elections – New Article by Jessica Heesen
The contribution is part of a cooperation between the Heinrich Böll Stiftung and the Israel Public Policy Institute IPPI within the German-Israeli Tech-Policy Dialog.
The article explores how the ability of AI to disseminate information more effectively, is prone to abuse and can pose a threat to democracy. It describes threats from AI in the context of disinformation, microtargeting and fake content and discusses the preconditions for its democratic use and the potential of AI to support the building of a critical public sphere.
