Hauptschwerpunkt: Geschichte der Wissenschaftsphilosophie, bes. der Physik, Sinnesphysiologie und Psychologie im 19. und frühen 20. Jhdt. Damit bin ich einer der sehr seltenen Vertreter der History of Philosophy of Science in Deutschland. Diese Richtung ist international stark vertreten (vgl. hopos.org/), vor allem in den angelsächsischen Ländern, aber in wachsendem Maße auch in der EU, nur nicht in Deutschland!
Interessengebiete: Kausalität und Wahrscheinlichkeit, Philosophie des Experiments, Messung, Modellbegriff, Logischer Empirismus, Geschichte der formalen Logik. Ferner: Analytische Philosophie, Philosophische Logik, Philosophie und Geschichte des Leib-Seele-Problems, Kognitionswissenschaft, Erkenntnistheorie.
Main focus: History of Philosophy of Science, especially physics, sensory physiology and psychology in the 19th and early 20th centuries. I am one of few scholars in Germany working in this area. The field is flourishing internationally, especially in the Anglo-Saxon countries (cp. hopos.org), but increasingly also in the EU, just not in Germany!
Areas of interest: causality and probability, philosophy of experiment, measurement, modelling in the sciences, Logical Empiricism, history of formal logic. Furthermore: Analytic Philosophy, philosophical logic, philosophy and history of the mind-body-problem, philosophy of cognitive science, epistemology
